Dr. Shannon Connor
About
Dr. Shannon Connor is recognized as a leader in advanced upper cervical care, combining precision, innovation, and a deeply patient-centered approach to healing. She is the only chiropractor in Southern California certified and actively practicing both NUCCA and Quantum Spinal Mechanics (QSM3) — two of the most precise, gentle, and results-driven upper cervical techniques available today. Her work goes beyond technical excellence; it is rooted in meaningful, lasting transformation.
Dr. Connor graduated with honors from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, earning both her Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Science. She further refined her expertise under the mentorship of a NUCCA master in Chicago while simultaneously launching her private practice at the Evanston Holistic Center. Between 1995 and 1997, she co-hosted the Holistic Health Hour in Chicago, becoming a trusted voice in integrative health and conscious healing.
In 1997, she relocated to Newport Beach, where she established a premier NUCCA-focused practice, serving patients across Southern California with exceptional precision and care. She later returned to broadcasting as co-host of KUCI’s Holistic Health Hour from 1998 to 2000. Her dedication to mastery led her to serve as a lead NUCCA instructor at Cleveland Chiropractic College from 2008 to 2009. Today, she is also a faculty instructor of Quantum Spinal Mechanics, a cutting-edge approach focused on releasing tension, restoring balance, and supporting long-term structural integrity.
Dr. Connor’s commitment extends far beyond her credentials. She understands that chronic pain can deeply impact every aspect of a person’s life, from physical well-being to emotional resilience and connection. Her approach is grounded in presence, compassion, and the belief that each individual has the capacity to heal. No two patients are alike, and her care reflects that understanding with highly individualized attention.
Her training also includes extensive work in holistic nutrition, along with involvement in advanced telomere research from 2008 to 2010, reflecting her commitment to whole-body, long-term wellness.
Healing begins at the root, starting with the upper cervical spine. This delicate region, where the skull meets the first two vertebrae, C1 (the atlas) and C2 (the axis), plays a critical role in the body’s overall alignment and neurological function. Even subtle misalignments in this area can create widespread compensation patterns throughout the body.
The head, weighing approximately 10 to 12 pounds, rests on the small atlas vertebra, a structure designed for balance rather than compensation. When that balance is disrupted by trauma, stress, or even the birth process, the body adapts. Posture shifts, muscles tighten, and the spine compensates, often leading to long-term patterns of discomfort and dysfunction.
Using highly precise and gentle corrections without force or twisting, Dr. Connor works to restore alignment at its source. As the body regains balance, many patients experience improvements in symptoms such as migraines, TMJ, vertigo, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, sciatica, and more. These changes occur not through symptom-based treatment, but by addressing the underlying structural cause.
Dr. Connor’s focus is not temporary relief, but meaningful, lasting change. Her practice is built on thoughtful, individualized care where patients are given the time, attention, and respect they deserve. Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, and every interaction is grounded in both clinical precision and genuine compassion.
Because true healing is not simply about fixing what feels wrong, it is about restoring balance and reconnecting the body to its natural state of function.
