Dr. Ryan Lawlor
About
Dr. Ryan Lawlor, co-owner and lead clinical director of Advance Upper Cervical Chiropractic in Walnut Creek, has been practicing Blair upper cervical chiropractic for over 16 years. He solely concentrated on the Blair Technique throughout chiropractic school and went on to practice this specific upper cervical technique exclusively since his graduation. Spending countless hours honing his analysis and adjusting skills in order to deliver the best care possible, Dr. Lawlor gives attention to detail and takes every case seriously. He is continuously looking for maximal patient outcomes in minimal time, as upper cervical care has been known to do so well.
Dr. Lawlor has been a member of the Blair Chiropractic Society for nearly two decades. He has served in different roles throughout the years, including hosting the 2025 Annual Blair Conference in Dallas, Texas. He currently holds a seat on the advisory board for the Blair Chiropractic Society, and is current chair of a committee. In previous years, he has also been fortunate enough to have served on the board for the ICA’s Council on Upper Cervical Care.
Dr. Lawlor earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, CA. He has done extensive post-graduate work specifically in the Blair Technique, in addition to his doctorate requirements. He has served on mission trips abroad in El Salvador, and more locally at San Quentin prison. Over the years, Dr. Lawlor has spent time on the Life West campus assisting with educating students who are learning the Blair technique. He has also worked with dental offices in San Francisco to assist/advise in TMJ related issues, as well as various ENT offices assisting with both tinnitus and sinus cases.
A native of the East Bay, Dr. Lawlor grew up in Pittsburg, CA and has lived coast-side in Daly City for 23 years. He’s married to his wife Marissa of 31 years and they have two active teenage boys that seem to “eat more than each of them can lift”. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time in his garage tinkering with old cars, shifting seasonally between Giants baseball to 49er football, drinking coffee and reading… but most of all, he really enjoys spending quality time with his family. Life has been good to him; he knows it and he’s grateful for it.
