Dr. F.J. Schofield was born in Holland, Michigan, and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Chiropractic and holistic health have been part of his life from the very beginning. His father was a world-renowned chiropractor, and his mother was a nutritionist and herbalist, instilling in him the importance of living a healthy, natural, and drug-free lifestyle.

Growing up, Dr. F.J. developed a passion for athletics, particularly tennis. His dedication to the sport earned him a Division I tennis scholarship to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he was living his dream—competing at a high level, succeeding in the classroom, and enjoying college life just minutes from the beach.

Everything changed during a match at the University of Central Florida.

While reaching back for an overhead shot, Dr. F.J. felt a sudden, intense pain shoot through his lower back. Determined to finish the match, he continued playing, but the pain only worsened. Over the following days and weeks, it became debilitating. What he assumed was a temporary injury soon prevented him from competing altogether.

Like many athletes, he sought every conventional treatment available. He underwent ice therapy, heat, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, massage, and rehabilitation with the university’s athletic trainers. Despite every effort, nothing provided lasting relief. He struggled to sleep, found it painful to sit through classes, and lived with constant discomfort.

The experience transformed his perspective on life.

Only months earlier, he had been living out his lifelong dream as a collegiate athlete. Now he found himself frustrated, exhausted, and unable to do the things he loved. One evening, after months of relentless pain, he lay awake in bed and realized just how profoundly poor health can affect every aspect of life. It became clear that without your health, everything else takes a back seat.

When the semester ended, Dr. F.J. returned home, where his father performed a thorough chiropractic evaluation. After a series of specific adjustments, he experienced meaningful relief for the first time since the injury.

Although he had always expected to become a chiropractor someday, that personal experience gave him a much deeper purpose. Having lived through chronic pain himself, he became passionate about helping others overcome the same struggles and regain the quality of life they thought they had lost.

Eight years later, Dr. F.J. and his wife, Dr. Korie, opened their chiropractic practice in West Bend, Wisconsin, with a shared mission of helping patients achieve lasting health—not simply temporary symptom relief.

However, Dr. F.J.’s own journey was far from over.

For years, regular chiropractic adjustments every two to four weeks helped him manage his back pain, but they never completely resolved the underlying problem. About six months after opening his practice, the pain began returning more frequently. Eventually, he required adjustments two to three times each week just to function comfortably.

He also noticed the same pattern among many of his patients. They would feel significantly better immediately after an adjustment, but within days their symptoms would gradually return, requiring another visit. While traditional chiropractic care often provided excellent short-term relief, Dr. F.J. became determined to understand why so many people—including himself—continued to experience recurring problems.

That search led him to pursue advanced training in more precise, corrective chiropractic techniques designed to address the underlying cause of spinal dysfunction rather than simply managing recurring symptoms. Today, his practice focuses on helping patients achieve long-term stability, improved function, and a higher quality of life through individualized, evidence-informed chiropractic care.
