Dr. Tyler VanAkin
Dr. Tyler VanAkin is an upper cervical chiropractor and the founder of The Cause Chiropractic in Leesburg, Virginia. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve better health through precise, neurologically focused chiropractic care while advancing the chiropractic profession through education, advocacy, and leadership.
Driven by a passion for improving the lives of others, Dr. VanAkin entered the healthcare field with the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthier, happier, and stronger life. His patient-centered approach combines evidence-informed decision making with specialized upper cervical chiropractic care to help patients restore nervous system function and improve overall well-being.
Dr. VanAkin earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he distinguished himself as president of Palmer’s Knee Chest Club, secretary and chair of chiropractic philosophy for Delta Sigma Chi, and a radiological intern at the Palmer Clinics. His dedication to upper cervical chiropractic led him to become Virginia’s first upper cervical chiropractor licensed to perform the Advanced HIO technique, providing patients with a highly specialized approach to chiropractic care.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. VanAkin is actively involved in shaping the future of the chiropractic profession. He previously served on the chiropractic advisory council for Make America Healthy Again™ (MAHA™) and currently serves on the Government Affairs Committee of the Chiropractic Futures Strategic Plan. He also serves on the Advanced HIO Board, where he co-chairs the Educational Committee, helping advance education and training within the profession.
Dr. VanAkin lives in Leesburg, Virginia, with his wife on a historic horse farm. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with their horses and advocating for chiropractic care in Washington, D.C. His commitment to clinical excellence, education, and professional leadership has made him a respected voice in upper cervical chiropractic and patient-centered healthcare.
