D. Ryan Copleston leads our Upper Cervical clinic in Edinburgh, offering focused, specific chiropractic care to help people improve how they feel and function every day. The only dedicated Upper Cervical Clinic in Scotland.
He graduated from the AECC in 2017 and has worked across Scotland ever since, gaining a strong understanding of the UK healthcare system—especially where it can leave people feeling stuck, with vague diagnoses or no clear answers. His approach is about providing clarity, connection, and results through precise Upper Cervical care.
Having dealt with a range of health challenges himself over the years, Ryan understands where chiropractic care—and particularly Upper Cervical work—can play a vital role in helping someone get their life back. He’s also spent much of his life pushing his own body through sport, with a background in rugby, powerlifting, hill running and triathlon. That experience helps him appreciate both the body’s potential and the frustration that comes when it’s not performing at its best.
As a husband and father, he works hard to understand what matters most to the people he helps—and how removing interference from the nervous system can give them the energy and confidence to show up fully in life.
The clinic is equipped with on-site CBCT scanning and infrared thermography, giving us the ability to assess and deliver care with a high level of accuracy and objectivity. These tools allow us to measure nervous system changes and ensure each correction is based on what your body truly needs.

Delighted with my post-adjustment results
I was thrilled with the results of my third adjustment with Ryan today – I noticed a clear improvement between my pre- and post-adjustment scan – it’s the best result I’ve had so far. Neck issues
I have been visiting Ryan weekly for the last 6 weeks due to experiencing life-altering symptoms that came on after a
viral infection and ongoing issues with my back and neck.
My symptoms were …
dizziness
vertigo
severe migraines
ringing in my ears
eye pressure / face pressure
sinus issues

After numerous visits to A&E, a 3-week hospital stay, and an MRI of the brain and spine, scans came back clear. After seeing a private neurologist who

Following a 3D scan she had, it was established that her C2 vertebrae was misaligned and causing her issues. This is presently being addressed by manipulation and I can honestly say it’s making a positive difference to her quality of life . Can't Thank Top Chiro Enough.
I have been going to see Ryan for the last 5-6 weeks now and the difference in my overall health is unreal.
My problems started on May 2024,Dizziness,blurred vision,Brain fog,ear ringing,constant pain all over my body that got so bad that i was spending 24 hours in bed most days for nearly a year,there is another 15-20 symptoms i could mention on top of those,it was just a horrible time for me and my family.
I then went to a private Neurologist and ENT specialist,got all the tests,MRI’s,CT scans,numerous blood tests,everything came back with no concrete answers,they said fibromyalgia and vestibular migraines,but i didn’t think that was the correct diagnosis,and i’m so glad i done some homework and found TopChiro,they found out it was my C1 and C2 that were the real problems.

The Top Chiropractic Clinic was and still is hugely helpful as they were able to diagnose my problem and offer helpful solution. The quite badly misaligned atlas (first head vertebrae) caused symptoms of Functional Neurological Disorder including very unpleasant seizures.
I started my treatment in Newcastle with Robin and now continue here in Edinburgh with Ryan who is very professional as well as friendly and I know I am in the right hands.
After a few months of treatment I can see huge improvement. The healing journey isn’t always straight forward, my FND symptoms got a bit worse again as part of the successful treatment as the rest of the spine seems to be aligning.
I can highly recommend Ryan and the clinic in general.

I have my life back
I can not put into word how grateful I am to Dr.Ryan for basically giving me back my life.I suffered for years with hip and coccyx pain and could hardly walk at times.also severe headaches,electric shocks in arms and legs,crippling pain in neck and shoulders also pain behind my eyes.i had almost given up hope when I found “topchiro”.i can not recommend this treatment enough,it has changed my life.all my symptoms are gone.Dr.Ryan found c1 and c2 misalignment in my cervical spine and with the very first correction I felt a hundred times better..I I would advise everyone who is struggling to get any help from a GP to make an appointment with “topchiro” to see Ryan..he is always so kind and caring .if I hadn’t found topchiro I really don’t think I would be here now,thankyou Dr.Ryan
Chronic Dizziness, Vestibular Migraines
Great experience, after suffering with debilitating symptoms for 3 months which unfortunately made me housebound – chronic dizzyness, vestibular migranes amongst other symptoms and a completely disregulated nervous system. My GP couldn’t help, all tests came back clear. I vosited top Chiropractic in Edinburgh as a last resort and after 2 adjustments my symptoms improved significantly. I’m now fully back to living as usual and very grateful to Ryan for his expertise.
I can't believe the difference
In many ways I struggle to put into words how grateful I am for the treatment at the Top Chiropractic Edinburgh. I went into the practice in absolute horrendous pain in my skull and all sorts of extreme neurological challenges including severest form of Noxacusis, painful hyperacusis and a movement disorder that had been going on for 12 years. After 12 weeks I can’t believe the difference. I can’t remember feeling as strong and stable in my body. I will be continuing to build more strength and stability. Suffering from Vertigo
I have been suffering with vertigo since September 2023 and was absolutely desperate to try and get some relief. I had previously had numerous gp visits who done nothing for me other than provide anti-sickness tablets (which made me drowsy which made my dizziness 10 times worse), and I had previously privately paid for vestibular physio which helped slightly but never cured me. So, when my friend sent me a video on TikTok about top chiropractic I took the leap of faith and booked my initial consultation call, I had nothing to loose. My call was brilliant. I explained all my current symptoms and I was relieved to hear that this company were positive that they could help me. I have suffered with this for years which has caused me to have crippling anxiety. I got to the point where I didn’t even want to go to the supermarket for shopping as visually stimulating places made me feel like I was going to fall over.
After my initial free telephone call I booked an appointment with Ryan in the Edinburgh clinic. This was for an initial consultation and I was terrified. I really didn’t need to be. Ryan is a true professional and made me feel at ease and relaxed right from the get go. He was very thorough with the consultation and then a few days later called me to go through the findings and all the results.
It turned out I had a misalignment in my C1 at the very top of my spine – which I was completely unaware of. Upon googling it turned out that this misalignment looked to be a the prime suspect for pretty much all of my issues.
Ryan recommended to me one appointment every week for 12 weeks (today was my final appointment of this stage of the treatment). I can confidently say my symptoms have reduced by 80% already. I’m much less anxious as a person and the dizziness is only really triggers during periods of high stress or extreme tiredness. The next stage of my treatment is an appointment every two weeks for 3 months before doing another progress exam. I honestly wish I had done this years ago to save me suffering for this long. Ryan and his team couldn’t have been nicer and I can honestly say from the heart, that if you are on the fence about booking then just go for it!

Severe migraines and vertigo

After so many years of being unwell….
2017 was when i started having vertigo …….
numerous episodes to my A&E over the years it got worse last year I had been admitted to hospital with severe migraines and vertigo I could not stand up and again no cure just pain meds was given/ vertigo meds.
The doctors clinic they all pushed pain medication and they wanted me on antidepressant to which I refused.
My work suffered my day to day life was suffering I was scared to go out….. lying in the dark head pounding.
Well i decided to do my own research and found Doctor Ryan’s practice and thank goodness I did as from the start I was heard and understood about my health and my journey and how it was effecting my every day life.
I was concerned I thought here we go again is this going to work I was worried as I have tried so many treatments.
I was so overwhelmed with my first treatment my non stop headaches/migraines had stopped and I was in tears with relief.
I have been going now for treatment and I have felt amazing these treatments have helped my overall health and well being and I can’t thank Doctor Ryan enough and my day to day life has changed massively and I’m back to being more confident and he sure has been my saviour …..
I would recommend here again and again as I trust this process I only wished I had found this practice many years ago as I would not have suffered as much.
